Behind The Patient Experience began with a father’s fight for his NICU baby. During that difficult time, I witnessed what I believe was neglect amid inadequate staffing, and saw how staffing decisions can affect the most vulnerable patients and the families who depend on their care.
Here, I write about nurse staffing, patient safety, fair pay and benefits, and the need for accountability. My aim is to partner with nurses, bring concerns into the open, and advocate for meaningful change—not to speak over the people who provide care, but to help ensure their experiences are heard.
